Svolta della OCC: le banche statunitensi possono gestire nodi e reti di stablecoinLunedì sera, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency del Tesoro americano ha dichiarato ufficialmente che le banche nazionali sono autorizzate a gestire nodi indipendenti per le reti a registri distribuiti.
La lettera interpretativa dell’OCC dice che le banche “possono utilizzare le nuove tecnologie, compresi gli INVN [Indipendent Node Verification Network] e le relative stablecoin, per svolgere le funzioni consentite alle banche, come le attività di pagamento”.
A fronte di una notevole incertezza sul futuro delle stablecoin, l’annuncio dell’OCC è una grande novità. L’ufficio, tuttavia, avverte che ci sono rischi informatici inerenti all’utilizzo di tale tecnologia:
